* Re “The Hottest Seats in Hollywood,” Aug. 14: The excesses generated in the quest for preferred movie premiere seating serve as further evidence that the defining characteristic of the entertainment industry is the conflict of ego, money, opinion and talent, all relentlessly vying for control in an atmosphere of adversity.

* Recently, I have been lamenting that I could have had it all if only I had stayed with the celebrity thing a long time ago when I had the chance. Thank you for reminding me why I didn’t do that. Your article reminded me what a hog race that whole scenario is. I can’t imagine worrying even a nanosecond about where I’m going to sit; my seat is always the best seat in town, because I can see everything clearly from where I stand.
