Parking at Red Line Station

* Re “Parking Spot-Check,” Aug 15.
In view of the obvious Valley parking problems, [county Supervisor Zev] Yaroslavsky says he doesn’t think that people should use their cars to get to the subway. Perhaps if he hadn’t torpedoed attempts to get the obviously popular and successful subway extended farther though the Valley, rather than dead-ending in North Hollywood, this wouldn’t be the continuing problem anyone could have predicted.

* Not once in the article was it suggested that they build a parking structure.
As it is, if one is lucky enough to find a parking space at the far end of the existing lot, it is a fairly long walk from the station.
I cannot fathom how the brilliant minds who were able to design a subway system couldn’t figure out that the answer is not to build out, but to build up.
