The city is considering joining Cypress, Los Alamitos and Seal Beach in the regional Fourth of July celebration at the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos.
Each city funds the celebration, which includes military marching units, music and fireworks displays.
Councilwoman Lauree Aragona, who attended this year’s celebration, called it a worthwhile community event for La Palma residents. The City Council will make a decision before the end of the year.
