Censorship in Schools

* As the author of one of the books banned by the Anaheim Union High School District (Dec. 22), I am appalled at this blatant censorship and demand that my book and the other titles in the “Lives of Notable Gay Men and Lesbians” be returned to the school library. My volume on the pianist Liberace is, like all these Chelsea House biographies for junior readers, an honest portrayal of a historic figure, with frank discussion of his homosexuality. The ACLU will prevail in its defense of the 1st Amendment.
