Crane’s Clutch Shots Lift Seahawks to Win

Marques Crane made seven of eight free throws in the fourth quarter Friday as the Ocean View boys’ basketball team rallied to defeat Long Beach Jordan, 49-47, in the American Division semifinals of the Del Mar Torrey Pines National Prep Tournament.
The Seahawks, Orange County’s sixth-ranked team, outscored Jordan, 18-11, in the fourth quarter.
Crane finished with 20 points and Torin Beeler scored seven of his 14 points in the fourth quarter.
Ocean View (10-2), which trailed, 36-31, entering the fourth quarter, plays Chatsworth in tonight’s 5:30 final at Torrey Pines High.
In a Governor’s Division semifinal:
Capistrano Valley 75, Orem (Utah) Timpanagos 63--Matt Sweany scored 25 points for the Cougars (10-2), who advanced to play La Jolla The Bishop’s in the 7 p.m. final today at Rancho Bernardo High.
In a consolation game:
Santa Margarita 71, Rialto Eisenhower 57--Brandon Rohe scored 20 points and Travis Toch had 11 for Santa Margarita (13-1), the county’s second-ranked team.
