Ed McKinney’s three-point basket from the wing with 10 seconds remaining lifted third-seeded Inglewood High to a 43-42 victory over Santa Margarita in a Southern Section Division II-AA boys’ basketball quarterfinal playoff game Friday night at Inglewood Morningside.
“It was definitely not the kind of shot we wanted,” said Inglewood Coach Patrick Roy, whose team improved to 25-4, “but under the circumstances, we’ll take it.”
McKinney finished with nine points--all on three-point shots.
Lenny Collins of Santa Margarita missed a desperation shot near the three-point line at the buzzer.
