Santa Margarita, the second-ranked team in the county, begins the week with two tough games. Tuesday, the Eagles play at eighth-ranked El Toro and Wednesday, they play at unranked Irvine, which lost to sixth-ranked Capistrano Valley in sudden death earlier this season.
Capistrano Valley plays fourth-ranked Villa Park in another key nonleague match Tuesday at Saddleback College.
Many of the county’s top teams finish the week playing at the Newport Harbor tournament, Thursday through Saturday. The final is 3 p.m. Saturday at Newport Harbor.
