Woman Indicted in 4 Daughters’ Deaths

A Louisville, Ky., woman whose three young girls died under mysterious circumstances in March and whose infant daughter died five months earlier was indicted on charges that she murdered the four children. The state’s chief medical examiner announced autopsy results indicating that three of Shavonda Charleston’s daughters who died in March were suffocated. The deaths had been a mystery since the girls, ages 5, 2 and 17 months, were found unconscious in Charleston’s apartment March 26.
