El Dorado High School band members have raised $8,000 toward their trip to Sydney, Australia, to play in the 2000 Olympics in August. But that’s still far below the $534,000 needed to send the 178 band members.
El Torito restaurant on Yorba Linda Boulevard will donate 25% of all sales from noon to closing Saturday to the band. The Southern California Water District will also donate $2,000 toward the band’s trip if members pass out fliers announcing a free toilet exchange program.
