SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO

Mission San Juan Capistrano’s plans for a new ceramics building have been approved by the city’s Cultural Heritage Commission.
Unless the plans are changed, the ceramics building will be in an L-shape around the original kiln and fireplace, and ceramics artists Klara Macciotta and Ron Primrose will have demonstrations and classes on the site.
Primrose specializes in pit firing, a technique unique to the mission’s history, and will use the original kiln for his work.
