The City Council’s frequent outbursts from behind the dais are best compared to a raucous daytime talk show, Interim City Manager Daniel Miller said Wednesday in an unusually candid State of the City address.
“It’s a ‘Jerry Springer Show’ out there at our council meetings,” he said, addressing members of the Yorba Linda Chamber of Commerce. “But in spite of all that, city business does get done. Streets get swept, parks are maintained. Things get done.”
With councilman-elect Ken Ryan to be sworn in Tuesday to fill the seat left vacant by Gene Wisner, many of the city’s pressing issues are bound to be resolved, Miller said.
