Longtime Officer Is Honored by Police

Simi Valley Sgt. Karl Becker has been selected as Officer of the Year for the Simi Valley Police Department.
Becker joined the Police Department in 1977 after graduating from the Ventura County Police and Sheriff’s Academy.
He has spent nine years as a patrol officer, two years as a field training officer, six years as a narcotics detective, two years as a traffic officer and two years as the department’s training coordinator.
He has also served as a board member and president of the Simi Valley Police Officers Assn.
Becker will be recognized by the City Council and will represent the Police Department at various functions throughout the year.
