Crescenta Valley 49, Hoover 7--Hudson Gossard completed 13 of 15 passes for 184 yards and five touchdowns, all in the first half, at Glendale High.
Crescenta Valley (8-1, 3-1) took a 42-0 halftime lead and rested most of its starters in the second half.
Gossard threw for touchdowns of three, 10, 47, 48 and 13 yards to give the Falcons a 35-0 lead with 4:28 left in the second quarter.
Jason Hogan had four receptions for 85 yards, including touchdowns of 47 and 13 yards. He returned a punt 49 yards for the last touchdown of the first half.
Jason Burkhart had scoring receptions of 10 and 48 yards for Crescenta Valley, which bounced back from a 31-28 loss to Muir.
Hoover (0-9, 0-4) scored on a three-yard run by Peter Riojas with 1:38 to play. The Tornadoes finished with 25 total yards, eight in the first half.
