On Nov. 7, residents will have the option of voting for two City Council write-in candidates in addition to the two incumbents on the ballot.
Ronald Chandler, a taxi driver, and Fernando Gutierrez, manager of Adopt-a-Social Worker program with the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center, have qualified as official write-in candidates. Both had taken out papers to have their names on the ballot, but lacked enough signatures from registered voters. To become official candidates, the two still had to gather 20 signatures.
Chandler and Gutierrez challenge incumbents Tom Tait and Shirley McCracken.
