Vernon A. Jones of Portola Hills has been chosen the city’s new planning director.
Jones has a bachelor’s degree from Loma Linda University and a master’s in urban planning from Cal Poly, Pomona. He is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
Before joining Laguna Hills, Jones employed by the city of Orange for 14 years in various planning positions. Most recently he served as planning manager, responsible for overseeing all planning functions for the city. Prior to that, he worked for Cypress and Rosemead for a total of six years.
