In other nonleague boys’ water polo:
No. 7 Laguna Beach 9, La Canada 5--Kirk Ziegler scored three goals and Trevor Lyle added two for Laguna Beach (3-0). Goalies Rod Mortazavi and David Bartels combined for 17 saves for the Artists.
Loara 20, Rancho Alamitos 5--Jeff Perez and Chris Murray scored four goals each to lead Loara. Harrison Spain scored two goals and had 12 saves for the Saxons (2-1).
Mission Viejo 16, Laguna Hills 5--Sophomore Jason Grijalva scored seven goals for visiting Mission Viejo (2-0).
In nonleague boys’ cross-country:
Servite 19, Troy 38--Servite’s Ryan Stava ran the 3.06-mile course at Acacia Park in 17 minutes 25 seconds to win.
In nonleague girls’ cross-country:
Rosary 15, Troy 50--Senior Christi Arnerich won in 20:44 over Acacia Park’s 3.06-mile course for Rosary.
In Sunset League field hockey:
Newport Harbor 3, Fountain Valley 0--Kaley Nix, Lauren Birchfield and Brianne Parmeter all scored for Newport Harbor (3-0).
In nonleague girls’ golf:
No. 10 Aliso Niguel 122, Capistrano Valley 160--Leisl Hasbrouck was medalist with a par 36 at San Juan Hills for Aliso Niguel (2-0).
No. 5 Irvine 258, El Toro 303--Senior Stella Lee shot a one-under 71 for Irvine. Lee’s two-day score was shot at Oak Creek and El Toro.
In nonleague girls’ tennis:
No. 1 Corona del Mar 14, No. 3 Woodbridge 4--Anne Yelsey won, 6-2, 6-0, 6-0, for the Sea Kings (2-0). Elizabeth Exon won two of three singles sets for Woodbridge (1-1).
Rosary 12, Marina 6--Juniors Crystal Summers and Megan Arora won in doubles, 6-3, 6-1, 6-2, for Rosary (2-1).
No. 7 University 11, Santa Margarita 7--Megan Biorkman and Aimee Kim swept their opponents as University (2-2) won eight of nine singles sets.
In nonleague girls’ volleyball:
No. 1 Mater Dei 3, Dana Hills 0--Whitney Pavlik had nine kills for host Mater Dei (3-0), which won, 15-7, 15-4, 15-8.
No. 4 Huntington Beach 3, Laguna Beach 0--Julie Atkinson had 32 assists and Serena Bountour eight kills for host Huntington Beach (1-1), which swept the Artists (1-1), 15-8, 15-7, 15-12.
Cypress 3, Ocean View 1--Tricia Culley had 17 kills and Kristy Schmitz added 12 for host Cypress (1-2), which won, 15-11, 13-15, 15-7, 15-13.
