More than 10,000 Tai Chi enthusiasts gathered in Hong Kong in an attempt to win a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Practitioners donned red T-shirts and performed synchronized sequences of the ancient Chinese meditation and breathing exercise for 30 minutes, to strains of traditional Chinese music at the Happy Valley race track.
A government spokesman said that the event aimed to promote Tai Chi, a sport said to increase longevity and benefit health, and that a bid will be submitted to claim the world record for hosting the largest ever Tai Chi demonstration.
