DIVISION IX: Buena Park (9-4) vs. Brea Olinda (12-0) at Cal State Fullerton, 7:30--Buena Park won a playoff game for the first time three weeks ago and kept on rolling, including a stunning 29-17 upset of top-seeded West Covina South Hills, the division’s defending champion, in the semifinals. The unseeded Coyotes feature a hard-hitting defense led by linebacker Raymond Gonzalez. Brea Olinda’s offense should provide a good test. The second-seeded Wildcats can finesse teams with an accurate short passing game led by quarterback Steve Stagnaro, or punish them with the bruising running of Manuel Gutierrez. The Wildcats are also relatively new to the Southern Section finals, having advanced just once since 1963, a 27-21 loss to La Verne Bonita two years ago.
