From Times Wire Reports
An anti-graft judge suspended ousted President Joseph Estrada’s corruption trial until January after another judge was removed from the case.
Justice Teresita de Castro canceled the trial because the removal of Judge Anacleto Badoy meant the court had less than the required quorum of judges. The Supreme Court on Tuesday indefinitely barred Badoy from handling Estrada’s trial until it resolves questions about his neutrality and conduct.
Estrada is charged with the capital offense of economic plunder. His trial is set to resume Jan. 7.
