GIRLS’ SOCCER SOUTHERN SECTION DIVISION II PLAYOFFS

In other Division II playoff games:

Canyon 1, San Bernardino San Gorgonio 0--Alecia Alianell scored an unassisted goal from 35 yards with eight minutes left to win it for host Canyon (23-3). Goalie Theresa Vos made three saves to get her 11th consecutive shutout.

Edison 3, Lake Elsinore Temescal Canyon 0--Jane Wyche, Kira Simon and Brooke Thulin scored goals for host Edison (20-1-5), which plays Newport Harbor on Tuesday.

Manhattan Beach Mira Costa 3, Mater Dei 0--Crystal James scored two goals for Mira Costa (19-2-3). Mater Dei finished the season 10-9-3.

Mission Viejo 3, La Mirada 0--Jen Thais scored two goals and assisted on Stacey Mescher’s goal for Mission Viejo (14-1-7). Katie Wright had one save for the Diablos, who play Corona Centennial Tuesday.

Newport Harbor 3, Troy 1--Newport Harbor senior Satya Twena scored a goal in the 67th minute, and an assist to Amy Ross, who scored in the 19th minute. Goalkeeper Lauren Birchfield kept Troy scoreless until the 79th minute.
