WASHINGTON — Rep. Mary Bono (R-Palm Springs) will have a benign mass removed from her lower abdomen today and will miss several weeks in Congress while recuperating, her office said Monday.
Dr. John DeMesserman will perform the operation at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. He termed Bono’s prognosis excellent, adding, “This is a fairly routine procedural for many women and I anticipate a full recovery.”
Bono is 39. Her office said that after the operation, she plans to recover at her home in Palm Springs for six to eight weeks.
