NEW YORK — General Electric Co.’s NBC Television Network and TV-station owner Hearst-Argyle Television Inc. agreed to form a joint venture to produce programs for syndication and cable networks. Terms were not disclosed.
The companies said they would combine certain television production and distribution operations, including New York-based Hearst-Argyle’s facility in Boston and NBC’s facility in Burbank.
The agreement follows another joint venture formed last month between NBC’s group of owned and operated stations, Hearst-Argyle and Gannett Co. They agreed to produce programming for their broadcast stations. The cable-programming venture will work with the earlier venture, the companies said.
