* Re “School’s al Fresco Dining Ordeal Eases,” Jan. 18: Hooray for the children of Russell Elementary School--at least they had a cafeteria and an auditorium in the first place. My children’s school, Community Magnet School, has never had a cafeteria or an auditorium. Our children have eaten al fresco for over 20 years. Our library was turned into a classroom with class-size reduction, and the library now exists in a closet. The Los Angeles Unified School District has bigger problems than just the delay in the repairs from an arson fire. I hope The Times starts digging deeper to expose the bigger picture.
