Mirich of Irvine Is Awarded Scholarship

Jill Mirich of Irvine received a $5,000 “Athletic Barrier” scholarships awarded Thursday by Mervyn’s and the Women’s Sports Foundation.
Mirich graduated from Tustin High with a 3.5 grade-point average and was an all-league soccer player. She also played softball and golf. In the mid-1990s, she was diagnosed with epilepsy, which caused seizures, restricted her motor skills and impaired her vision.
