Festival of Arts’ Latest: a 365-Day List of Events

In an effort to boost Laguna Beach’s Festival of Arts, organizers have unveiled plans to host events year-round.
Famed for its summer art activities, which coincide with the Pageant of the Masters, the festival will expand its calendar to include concerts, performances by Ballet Pacifica and Opera Pacific, a film series and community productions.
Organizers also will debut the Laguna Beach Jazz and Pop Festival to be held Sept. 21 to 23.
The events will take place on the festival grounds at the Irvine Bowl, the Forum Theater and the festival’s 2.5-acre park.
The 365-day entertainment schedule comes on the heels of last year’s heated recall of board members who wanted to relocate the Laguna Beach arts tradition to San Clemente.
“We’re promoting a rebirth of the Festival of Arts,” festival board member Robert Dietrich said.
