An Oxnard woman has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and general mayhem stemming from the death last year of her friend’s 14-month-old son, a prosecutor said Wednesday.
During a court hearing Tuesday, Teresa Rodriguez, 21, also agreed to testify against her boyfriend, Patrick Santillano, 32, who was charged with murder in the case, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Dee Corona.
Ion Demitri Robledo died Oct. 22 at an Oxnard hospital. An autopsy revealed he was underweight and died as a result of neglect and physical abuse.
Rodriguez faces up to 12 years and four months in prison when she is sentenced Nov. 1, Corona said. Santillano’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday.
