The wife of an optometrist who was killed when a big rig plowed through a red light in Anaheim Hills filed a wrongful-death lawsuit Monday against the driver and the trucking company that employed him.
Trucker Anthony Robert Saiz was allegedly driving under the influence of methamphetamines March 8, when his overloaded big rig careened down a steep grade.
He barreled into the intersection, setting off a 12-vehicle collision that killed Kenneth Michael Larkin, 53, of Anaheim Hills.
Saiz, 48, of Lakewood, has pleaded not guilty to charges of gross vehicular manslaughter, felony driving under the influence and driving with an expired license.
The lawsuit also targets Saiz’s employer, Peterson Brothers Construction.
