6 TONIGHT CERRITOS GAHR HIGH
Top-seeded Santa Margarita is looking to win its fourth title in five years. The Regents won their first Division III title in 1998, when they shared a championship with West Hills Chaminade. Santa Margarita Coach Chuck Morales and St. Lucy’s Coach Wes Naughton each say they believe the teams are comparable across the board. However, Morales may have the more rounded team with forwards who can score, midfielders with great field vision and a strong defense that allowed only a half-goal per game. Allyce Lawrence has 15 shutouts. The Eagles have outscored their playoff opponents, 27-1. The Regents, on the other hand, have had close calls in the last two rounds.
