Carollo Says He Will Run for Mayor Again

MIAMI — Miami Mayor Joe Carollo, arrested in February on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge after allegedly hitting his estranged wife with a tea container, said that he will seek reelection in November.
Carollo, a Cuban American popular with the city’s large population of Cuban exiles, had said after his wife filed for divorce in 2000 that he would not seek another term, in hopes of saving his marriage.
But he said late Tuesday he wanted to build on his last four years running the city.
