No One at Home So Mission League Game Is Postponed

The Mission League baseball opener between Chaminade and Alemany was postponed Tuesday when the home-plate umpire failed to show up, the latest example of the troubles teams have been experiencing since the resignation of Valley assigner Tony Cuppari.
In at least three games this season, umpires failed to arrive.
The San Fernando Valley Umpires Assn. is advising schools to call their assigned umpires to confirm game sites and times.
