Disco Owners Get Jail for 1996 Fire

The owners of a Manila disco gutted by a 1996 fire that killed 160 people and injured more than 95, mostly teenagers, were convicted of not providing fire exits or sprinklers for the club.
Hermilo Ocampo and Ramon Ng were sentenced to four years in prison each. They also were ordered to pay $3,061 in damages to the families of each of those killed and $2,040 to each of the injured.
