In the Century League:
No. 7 Canyon 8, Foothill 1--Rocky Roquet pitched a five-hitter for host Canyon (5-3, 1-0). Mike Whipple and Justin McClure each had two hits, an RBI and a run for the Comanches.
In the Empire League:
No. 5 El Dorado 11, Kennedy 0--Jeff Flaig pitched a no-hitter for visiting El Dorado (7-1, 1-0), striking out three and walking five. The Golden Hawks scored six runs in the second inning.
In the Freeway League:
Buena Park 7, La Habra 6 (9)--Rudy Padilla doubled home the tying run and scored on a wild pitch in the ninth for the host Coyotes (3-5, 1-0). La Habra is 5-3, 1-0.
In the Sea View League:
No. 8 Irvine 9, Aliso Niguel 6--Catcher Jon de Vries homered twice and David Parker had three hits for the visiting Vaqueros (6-1, 2-0). Jeremy Burchett homered twice for Aliso Niguel (0-1 in league).
