This year’s San Fernando Valley Fair will go on as planned June 7-10, now that event organizers and federal authorities have worked out their differences, officials said Wednesday.
The Army Corps of Engineers, which owns the fair site at Hansen Dam Recreation Area, had concerns about alcohol sales at the event, overnight camping and the hours of operation, officials said.
After a two-hour meeting at Woodley Avenue Park, however, both sides emerged saying they were able to work through the issues to ensure the fair could go on, said Rob Wilcox, president of the fair’s board of directors.
