Youth Orchestra to Perform Friday

The New West Symphony Youth Symphony will perform Friday at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza’s Kavli Theatre.
Along with the youth orchestra, the concert will feature performances by a woodwind and brass quintet, a string quartet and other classical music groups.
The “2001: A Musical Odyssey” program will include selections from Holst’s “The Planets,” as well as works by Verdi and Kabalevsky.
The concert will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 general, $8 students. For information, call (800) 639-9378.
