Fire Destroys Home on Balboa Peninsula

Fire destroyed a house on the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach on Sunday evening, police said.
The single-alarm fire in the 200 block of 35th Street was called in at 5:13 p.m. Police said the structure is still standing, but was unsalvageable. Police are still investigating the cause of the blaze.
