Citing delays and cost overruns on city construction projects, Los Angeles City Councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski proposed Tuesday that a “facilities czar” be named to ensure work is completed on time.
The person would oversee bond-funded projects that include new parks, libraries, animal shelters and fire stations. “While some [projects] have been successful, others are failing and costing the city and the taxpayers millions of dollars in cost overruns and lost facility usage,” Miscikowski said.
