Bodies of 3 Women Found in Ciudad Juarez

The bodies of three young women were found in the city of Ciudad Juarez, in a cotton field just across the border from El Paso, prompting fears that a serial killer may again be terrorizing the city.
Between 1993 and 1997, at least 57 women were found raped and strangled near Ciudad Juarez. Investigators labeled the crimes the work of a serial killer.
There was no immediate information on whether the victims found Tuesday had been raped. But a police source who spoke on condition of anonymity said there were “important differences in the killers’ methods” between the bodies found Tuesday and those found in the 1990s.
In March 1999, five bus drivers were charged in 20 of the 57 slayings. After that, the killings appeared to have stopped.
