Orange El Modena 28, Villa Park 16--The Vanguards completed an undefeated run through the Century League and earned the league title outright for the first time since 1990 with the victory over visiting Villa Park.
Tailback Daniel Dixon gained 144 yards in 21 carries and scored touchdowns in the first and fourth quarters for El Modena (8-1, 5-0).
Quarterback Kevin Brown completed 12 of 20 passes for 102 yards and one touchdown, an eight-yard strike to Matt Spoonemore with 3:09 left in the first quarter, to open the scoring.
Villa Park (6-3, 3-2) trailed at halftime, 15-0, but got a safety and then scored on a 13-yard option pass from tailback Andy Truong to Jared Allmond to narrow the deficit to 15-9 with 3:12 left in the third quarter.
Dixon scored on a 17-yard burst around left end with 3:12 remaining in the game to give El Modena a 21-9 lead.
