Mother Due Probation for Leaving Boys in Car
- Share via
A young mother who left her two infants inside a hot car in June while she shopped pleaded no contest Wednesday to child abuse.
Subha Sara Sadef, 21, of Northridge, agreed to complete a parenting class and 80 hours of community service in exchange for being placed on probation.
“Considering the fact that the children weren’t hurt, it seems appropriate,” Deputy Dist. Atty. Richard Taklender said. “She’s very young and very remorseful.”
An off-duty police officer found Sadef’s two sons, 7 weeks and 19 months, sleeping in the car with the windows closed while their mother was grocery shopping in Northridge. The temperature reached 86 degrees that day.
She will be sentenced Oct. 17.
