Park Place Entertainment Corp. sold the Flamingo Reno hotel-casino to a unit of Las Vegas real estate developer Capital One, which will close the Nevada property Oct. 23 to redevelop it. Terms were not disclosed. The deal will mean the layoff of about 1,000 employees, who will be offered opportunities to apply for jobs at other Park Place properties.
