Team Seeks to Make a Habit of Winning

After seven games, the Kings are 2-3-1-1, which isn’t the kind of start they had in mind.
General Manager Dave Taylor, however, is not ready to push the panic button. The Kings reportedly have shown some interest in Boston free agent forward Jason Allison, but don’t expect any surprise deals. At least not yet.
“We’re always looking and [a deal] is as close as a phone call,” Taylor said before Thursday’s game against the Mighty Ducks.
With the Kings starting a six-game East Coast trip at Detroit on Saturday, Taylor is hoping to see more consistent play. They took a step in that direction with Thursday’s 4-1 victory.
“There’s not any timetable,” Taylor said. “We would like to develop some habits that we carry with us every game. We want to play with intensity and to play smart. We cannot have turnovers in our end, which we have done a number of times early this season. We have to develop better habits.”
