Architects Can Use Web to See If Plans Conform
- Share via
A Santa Monica-based Internet firm has launched the first online version of the Uniform Building Code that allows architects and builders to determine whether their plans comply with the widely accepted construction guidelines.
The online service--https://www.b-code.com--is expected to reduce by about 30% the time architects spend determining whether their plans comply with the Universal Building Code, which is the most widely used building code in the country. Officials at B-Code said the Internet service will also be able to measure compliance with the newly created International Building Code, which integrates elements of the Uniform Building Code and two other widely used sets of construction guidelines.
