Ventura County supervisors on Tuesday plan to consider allowing county government’s 7,500 employees to contribute to disaster relief efforts by donating unused vacation time.
Workers are looking for a way to aid families who lost loved ones in the Sept. 11 terror attacks in New York and at the Pentagon, Supervisor Judy Mikels said. Any money collected would be transferred to the Red Cross disaster relief fund.
Under the proposal, employees would fill out a form that authorizes the auditor-controller to convert annual leave hours into cash.
