Wine of the Week

Several years ago wine importer Kermit Lynch and the Brunier family from the famed Chateauneuf-du-Pape estate Le Vieux Telegraph (which Lynch imports) got together to buy this Gigondas property. This is the best vintage they’ve produced yet. It’s a deep, saturated red with the scent of sweet spiced plums and a taste like blackberries and the sun-baked Provencal earth. With its ripe tannins, it’s as vibrant and silky as a Burgundy. This is a real beauty with food, particularly roast lamb or pork or grilled meat. Drink it now or put it away for a while.
