Women Charged With Defrauding Immigrants

A woman who posed as a federal immigration employee was charged Tuesday in state court with defrauding immigrants out of at least $57,000 by selling phony documents, authorities said.
Norma Lillian Perez, 31, and her mother, Rosalva Jurado, 52, both of Fontana, were arrested Friday near Stanton.
The women have been charged with 21 counts, including theft by false pretenses, grand theft and conspiracy to cheat and defraud by false promises, officials said.
They came to the attention of authorities in February after the Orange County district attorney’s office received a complaint.
