Criminal Hearing for Treasurer Is Postponed

The arraignment of South Gate Treasurer Albert Robles, charged with making criminal threats, was postponed to Thursday in a hearing at South Gate Superior Court.
During a brief appearance Tuesday, Robles smiled at supporters who filled much of the courtroom. He spoke only to answer several questions from a prosecutor.
The arraignment was delayed so attorneys can prepare written arguments regarding Robles’ bail amount, which prosecutors have recommended be set at $500,000. Robles is charged with seven felony counts involving alleged threats against four victims, including two state legislators and a police officer.
