Re “Mexico Offers New IDs in U.S.,” April 17: Let me get this straight. Anaheim police started accepting a Mexican identity card “after many undocumented people were deported . . . when they couldn’t show valid identification.” In other words, illegal immigrants can avoid being legally deported if they possess a document which proves conclusively that they are in this country illegally. Somebody throw down a rope, because America has fallen down the rabbit hole.
