Oden Takes Over Duties at St. Francis

Kim Oden, a graduate of Irvine High and a two-time Olympian, has taken over as girls’ volleyball coach at Mountain View St. Francis High, the top-ranked team in Student Sports magazine’s preseason Fab 50 national rankings.
Oden had served as an assistant at Stanford, where she was a four-time All-American. She led Irvine to consecutive state Division I titles in 1987-88.
Local schools in Students Sports’ rankings are No. 11 Long Beach Wilson, No. 20 L.A. Marymount and No. 43 Manhattan Beach Mira Costa.
