As a native of San Diego and a former resident of the Hillcrest area, I particularly enjoyed your Weekend Escape (“Baby Steps in the Wilds of San Diego,” June 2).
But I was disappointed that author Mary McNamara and her children missed the bird show at the Wild Animal Park. I think it is exceptional. Also, if you visit in the fall, you can view its thousands of chrysanthemums.
We join the San Diego Zoological Society every year; the savings on admissions and guest passes are worth it when we entertain out-of-town visitors.
