A San Fernando Valley day-care worker pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment charges Friday in the March 3 death of a toddler.
Omolabake Ajoke Martinez left 19-month-old Silaedy Richardson unattended for 25 minutes and returned to find the child face down in a shallow fish pond, prosecutors said. The child later died at an area hospital.
Martinez was arrested Wednesday and appeared in San Fernando Superior Court Friday. She is being held in lieu of $230,000 bail.
